Are Bank Teller Jobs really worth it? Admittedly, someone has to do it but as far back as I could remember, bank teller jobs were never on my radar. The one thing I knew for sure, was that I wanted my own business.

Now some people might associate prestige working in a bank but I don’t see it that way at all. For some people, working in a bank is stressful. Some customers can often be difficult across the board and the environment you might be working in, could be one a stressful one.

My sister worked in a bank, well two actually. But she started with a bank teller job with the first bank she was employed with. She actually loved it; interacting with the customers and such.

The one thing she did not look forward to, was having to count an inordinate amount of $1 bills and coins (LOL). But other than that, she actually enjoyed the experience and now there are coin counting machines.

However, her supervisory position with the second bank, was a bit more stressful, as it entailed a bit more work. After a hospital visit and drips, needless to say, she left the bank and moved on to something much better.

Bank Teller Jobs: Are they worth it?

Well, that would depend on you and what you like. But let’s not despise small beginnings. While bank teller jobs might not be worth it to me, it might very well be worth it to you. My sister enjoyed it and you could too.

According to her, the environment was conducive to enjoying the job and she liked the accounting side of things.

A bank teller job could be a good way to get work experience, especially if you’re now starting out. In addition to which, starting off as a bank teller may be a good start for a more substantial position at the bank, if that’s your eventual goal. However, you’ll have to upgrade your skills.
